I found these life-changing "commandments" in an article I read and decided to print them out and put them in a little book that I could easily read whenever I needed encouragement or direction.
With one or two on a page, I am able to open the book anyplace and start my day with an uplifting thought.

37/100 Puffin Tile #100DayProject
Sorry that I am behind in posting my projects. I have 3 to post today and a 4th that is still in the works to be posted in a day or so. Thanks for being patient with me. I get so involved in doing the art, I find it hard to break free and post them to my blog right away.
This mixed media tile (6"x6") was inspired by one of my favorite childhood poems: The first line being, "There once was a puffin the size of a muffin who lived on an island in the bright blue sea..."

#34/100 Revision of #24/100 Now titled: "Today"
This is my revision of #24/100. After looking at it for a couple of weeks, I had to admit it was not what I wanted. So I took it out of the frame, put it on a larger wood panel and reworked it. I am much happier with it now.
Go back and look at the old version, #24, and then look at the revision. I think it's much nicer. What do you think?

Zentangle Class at Columbia Center for the Arts and 2 wonderful students.

This first attempt at Zentangle turned out so beautiful. |

This is a mono-tangle that I taught them toward the end of the class. It's called Paradox. |
They were so enthusiastic and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves the whole time. Christie went home and did an enhanced version of her Zentangle and sent me the picture you can see below. I am so proud of her. She does beautiful work and I'm happy to say she wants to go on with Zentangle and continue to learn.
Take a look at the gorgeous work she did on her first try. Not only did she shade it beautifully; but she added that touch of red that really made it pop!:
As a teacher, I couldn't be happier, for her or for me.

#32/100 2 4"x5" Mixed Media Tiles
I was watching YouTube videos and a lady was demonstrating how she makes some tiny 2"-4" tiles. Some are small enough to make jewelry, which I am not in the least interested in at this moment.
But I was fascinated by the layers she used to produce the small art pieces. Never one to say, "size doesn't matter," I decided to try her technique, but on a larger surface. I cut 2 tiles, each 4"x5" and proceeded to decorate them using the steps she demonstrated on her video.
These are the results of that experiment. So, all night long I woke up periodically wondering what I might do with two pieces of art, so small (in my mind)?
I'm really into making journals and books, these days: so I might turn them into covers for a couple of tiny books; or I might put a clock works behind each one and hang them on the wall. I suppose I could just frame them; but for now they sit on two small easels and I just admire them as I pass by.

#31/100 1921 National Business Speller turned into beautiful Junk Journal (Journal #7)
This old book, The National Business Speller, published in 1921 has been turned into a junk journal with lots of fun pictures, ephemera, pockets, tags and even pages to write on yourself. I had a blast assembling it, binding it, and lastly, tying it up with a green silk ribbon I had in my ribbon box.

I'm very excited to announce that I've opened a shop on Etsy to sell my art work.

It's also a place where someone can go to just to look at
all my art without having to click multiple times on blogs just to see more pictures.
Here's the link: www.Etsy.com/shop/StudioJinxie
When you visit the site, I'd appreciate it very much if you like it, to please click the "FAVORITE SHOP" link, right under "StudioJinxie" at the top of the page.
If you can remember StudioJinxie, you'll have no trouble finding it on Etsy.
#30/100 Jim's pocket notebook (Journal #6)
This tiny journal 2.5" x 3" is one I made for Jim. He always carries index cards in his pocket to write down things he thinks of and doesn't want to forget.
Recently, he came home and said that he wished he had a small notebook to write some of the interesting information people tell him while he is acting as a docent at WAAAM (Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum) in Hood River, Oregon.
Since I am very much into making journals of all sorts and sizes, I decided to make a tiny one that would fit in his pocket. I printed out a photograph of his 172 sitting in the snow the first winter he bought it. The front half of the plane is on the front cover, the back half of the plane is on the back cover. Both covers were made of sturdy cardboard, so he could write without having to find a surface to put the notebook on.
He was very excited when I presented it to him. A few days later, he went to his regular Saturday morning breakfast with his pilot friends and showed it off. I believe some of them were actually jealous of that adorable little notebook with Jim's very own plane on the cover. Don't really know; but I guess they were.
